Another Weekend

Well it was another quick weekend. We went to GG and Great-Grandpa's house to help celebrate GG's birthday. They took us all out to dinner, which was really good! We had a room to ourselves which was nice. We got to have Squash and Ham for dinner. Mommy has us on the really big jars now, but some of them have stuff in it, like little bits of pasta or carrots, which took us awhile to get used to. We actually have to mash stuff up now! On the plus side, we get to eat Cheerios! Here's some pictures from our weekend!

Daddy was cooking breakfast, so he put the ice chest between the kitchen and the table so we wouldn't come into the kitchen while he cooked bacon. Alex was fine with it, he liked to bang on the top. I have since figured out how to go around! Can't stop me yet!

Then it was off to GG's and Great-Grandpa's. We got to play with the coffee table. It's got these handles that make noise if you hold them up and drop them.

When GG put the dogs in the kitchen, Alex followed them. I think he just wanted a treat like the dogs got for going in there.

We got to have icing from the cake again! After that it was bedtime. But the next day was Sunday, which means Mommy doesn't bother changing us out of our pajamas since we're not going anywhere and we get a bath later anyways. We like these days.

Alex likes to play with the cat, Missy. I'm not sure she likes to play with Alex, especially now. Alex was pulling her tail and somehow managed to lay on top of her. She tried to get away, but he laid on top of her again.

Poor Missy!! I think she went an hid for while after that incident! But then Mommy put away the new diapers and we get to play with the box before it goes in the recycling bin. We like to put the lids down and open them up again. Alex took a head dive into the box and started crying. Then Daddy put the box outside. Oh well.

Then Mommy was putting clothes away in her room, so we went and played in the bathroom. We found the bath toys and we also figured out that you can bang on the toilet lid to make noise too. I like to play with the rugs, but that ended once Alex tried to go around the toilet and was uncovering the screw on the bottom of the toilet.

I've been experimenting with standing on my own. I've been letting go of things, and I can stand like Mommy and Daddy and everyone we see! Daddy tried for while to get me to do it so they could get a picture, but it took them three days! I'm going longer each time, but my legs get tired and I need to sit down. They're excited though, and talk about walking soon, but I wonder what that is?

We were given this wagon walker toy and at the time we were just learning to crawl, so Mommy put it away to use later. Well since we've got crawling down and going around the coffee table she decided to bring it out. She put it on the floor in front of me and I grabbed on and took off across the living room! I only go one direction until I run into something, so they have to turn me around. Alex kept getting in my way. Mommy said some thing about sharing and next thing I know, I'm sitting on the floor and Alex is pushing the wagon. He wasn't as fast as I was though! The toy is at Grandma and Grandpa's now, Mommy told them they have more space for us to use it.

Mommy couldn't get a picture of me with it, so here's one of Alex.

Oh, and Alex has passed me up in the tooth count. I have my bottom two, but Alex has 2 bottom and just got one on the top! Good for him!

The Simplest Things

It's the simple things that sometimes keep me and Jacob content for a few minutes. Mommy had bought us some new clothes since were growing out of the 9 month stuff and into the 12 month size last week. And even with all the toys that I'm sure you can see behind me in the picture, then thing that kept us entertained was the hanger that the clothes came on. Mommy found them all over since it was easy to crawl around with them. we had them in the kitchen, by the cat food, under the tables, and even all the way in our room.

I just wanted to share! We're celebrating GG's birthday tomorrow, so we should have some pictures to share on Monday.

This Weekend

This weekend was the first one since the middle of January that we didn't have any plans. We were excited since we could just stay home and hang out with Mommy and Daddy. We did go do the grocery shopping on Saturday, but that was it.

That evening we hung out with Mommy while she did the dishes and cooked dinner. I helped her by pulling up the rug, just in case she decided to sweep. Alex decided to open the cabinets to see what was in there. He found where the cereal bowls are! Then he picked one to play with, then another and finally he had all of the bowls out. He even turned one upside down and was using it as a drum.

This is Alex with his innocent face on.

Then Mommy decided to give us "safer" toys to play with.

Then on Sunday morning we helped her empty the dishwasher. We're such good helpers! I like to just lean on it while Alex tried to get to the utensils. (Mommy says to let you know that she did take out the knives once she realized we were down there.)

Often you will catch me playing with my tongue. It's often hanging out of my mouth when I'm not laughing at something. Daddy was trying to get pictures of us with his A's hat, but this was the best he got.

Mommy made pancakes for breakfast and we got to try it. I ate a couple bites of mine, Alex just threw his on the floor. I don't think he likes Mommy's cooking yet, he told me he's going to stick to the Cheerios and bananas.
After all that fun it was time for a nap. Alex ended up on the couch with Daddy, so he got to have the A's blanket to sleep under.

Alex fell asleep first, and went into his crib. Once I fell asleep, I was supposed to get the couch, but once again, Alex woke up screaming. So Daddy had to put me in my crib and get Alex, which is how he got the couch. However Daddy didn't realize until the last minute that the toys were still in my crib, along with the comforter we pulled down. So he put me in the only spot that didn't have something in the way. Mommy had gone to Target, and this is how she found me when she got home.

After our nap, we ate lunch and got back to business at hand. Crawling!! Mommy was in her room trying to catch up on her tv shows she'd recorded, so the gate was down and we could crawl back and forth!! While we were with Mommy we found a Harley bag (must have been from Grandma and Grandpa!!) It was under the bench, but resourceful Alex managed to find it for us.

Then Alex got to be in the bouncer, something about how he was whining and needed some alone time. This is still fine with me, since I can go over and see him.

That's me crawling from Mommy's room back to see Daddy and Alex. You can't tell but I still have that cough and congestion from that cold we had 3 weeks ago.

I went back to Mommy's room where I can see myself in the mirror. I can pull up on it and laugh at myself. I can also get on top of Daddy's backpack that's on the floor. I'm trying to climb on things now.

Then Alex came to play with the Harley bag again.

Then we got to eat dinner, which I didn't care for. Then Mommy remembered that she had saved the butter container for us to play with and thought it would be funny to put it on Alex's head. Alex is in his diaper since he got his clothes dirty and he seems happier when he's naked. Mommy didn't care since it was bedtime soon.

Pretty much after that we got new pajamas on and went to bed. So that was the end of the fun.

Uncle Sean's Birthday

Well, this isn't the post we'd planned on, but Mommy and Daddy's camera is acting up and Mommy couldn't get the pictures like she had wanted to. But here's some pictures from out Uncle Sean's birthday a couple of weekends ago.

Daddy has started to put towels or burp rags in the back of our shirts and says that it's our cape. We never really even notice that it's there, but Mommy and Daddy sure get a kick out of it.

So here's me with my "cape". And just before this I crawled forward!! In front of everyone to see for the first time! Of course I didn't do it again for a couple of days, but now there's no stopping me!

Here's Jacob with his "cape". He likes to pull up in the tables and jump. Of course when he does this, he shakes the whole table and make the lights move. This just cracks him up.

Then I got take my picture with Uncle Sean.

Then Mommy was tossing me around and in the next picture you can see my teeth.

Then we went to the restaurant for dinner. Mommy was nervous because she'd never taken us anywhere for dinner before and wasn't sure how we were going to act. We were fine. I got a little antsy, but once Grandma gave me some chopsticks to play with, I was good to go. Everyone said that we were very good, so I think Mommy was happy about that.

We went back to GG's and Great-Grandpa's house for cake and ice cream. Once in a while Mommy lets us taste the icing. We also got to sit with Uncle Sean. I think Jacob was excited about maybe getting icing and went ahead and got some off of the cake!

Here's me with icing all over!

Then Jacob got to explore, so he was happy.

We've been to the doctor for our 9 Month check ups. They turned out to be a sick visit too, since we both had a bad cold and had ear infections. The doctor said we both look good, and we didn't have to get shots this time!! She said we can just get the one needed at our next visit.
Here's our stats:
Alex
21 Pounds
27 3/4 Inches Tall
Jacob
21 Pounds 9 Ounces
28 Inches Tall
Mommy and Daddy are excited because now they just have to wait until our birthday to switch our seats since we've passed the 20 pound limit. Yay!!

Just Some Random Pictures

Hi, we just have some random pictures from the past couple of weeks today.

Daddy was quite excited when I figured out how to play basketball with the toy Santa brought us. Alex has it figured out too, however while I just use the balls that came with it, Alex likes to use the plastic shapes from another toy, along with the bottle lids and fish rattle. (And Mommy wonders where all the bottle lids have disappeared to!)

When we go to Grandma and Grandpa's, Grandma puts us into "Good looking Clothes" if we go out, usually to Costco! Grandpa lets us play with different foods while we're there, like the big stick of salami! But here's a couple of pics with our good looking clothes on, I'm first.

Then Alex.

In the mornings, Mommy puts us together in one crib so we can play. We like to take down the comforter that's on the back of the crib and throw the toys over the edge. We also like to play the music thing that on the side. Both of us have figured out how to turn it on. She tells us that we're bonding, but we think she just wants to finish reading the paper and eating her breakfast before having to change our diapers! We're onto her.

Alex isn't pulling up yet, but he can get on his knees, and is very proud of himself. And unlike me, he doesn't mind falling onto his bottom to get down. I prefer to look and out one of my hands down onto the floor that way I don't fall. Mommy says this is the first picture where she could see his new teeth.

Of course with getting on his knees, also means he likes to eat the furniture.

Mommy says Alex is going to be a great Spoons player when he's old enough. She lets him play with them while he eats, so he's distracted and she can get food in his mouth. And notice, he's got two of them, one in each hand already. Uncle Sean must have taught him that!

Alex hasn't figured out the whole crawling forward yet, but if you give him enough time, he can either roll or back up to get where he wants to go. This time he was going for a sippy cup under the kitchen table.

That's how far under table he really got!
Last picture. We had plastic spoons here for the baptism, so a couple were laying around, and of course, Alex managed to find it!

Baptism

We're finally healthy again. Mommy says that was the worst she's ever seen so far. We were even supposed to have pictures taken this past weekend, but she cancelled the appointment.

We were baptised on the 21st, which was Daddy's birthday. Mommy says she felt bad, but that we'd celebrate the following weekend instead.

Our hats fit, but the strap didn't go all the way around our heads. Mommy put this on Alex, just to see how it would look.

Here's Alex in his suit, and he's even smiling!

Here I am, there were a few people there and I was wondering what was going on.

We had just woken up, so we're now quite smiling yet.

There were 3 other babies that got baptized the same day. Everyone was saying how good we did during the service, even though we both were making some noise! The priest even said that one of the twins wanted him to get on with it when Alex screeched out loud in the church. At least everyone laughed when we did!
Then we got to have water pored over our heads. Alex went first while I watched. He must have liked it, once he got back to Mommy, he was leaning over trying to get in the basin! I just did what I do in the bathtub, lean my head back to try and get water in my mouth!
Here's a couple from the church. Kim is one of Mommy's closest friends since high school and she's our Godmother. That's our Uncle Sean, he's Alex's Godfather. My Godfather is Daddy's friend Brock, but he couldn't be there since he had to work. He was Mommy and Daddy's best man when they got married. And that's Father Oscar in the middle.

That's us with Nanay and Grandpa.

Here we are with Grandma and Grandpa. It was a busy morning and we didn't get much of a nap, so Alex was laying on everyone while they were taking pictures.

Mommy just wheeled us into our room when we got home, that way we could get some sleep.

After we woke up, we hung out with everyone and ate lunch. It was a fun day.
