Easter Picture Outtakes

I just realized that Jacob's been doing a lot of the posting lately, so I thought I'd share some of the outtakes from the Easter pictures. I know we posted some cute ones a couple of weeks ago, but not all of them turn out, even though we are adorable, we can take a bad picture.

With this one, I just didn't want to sit! One the plus side, we're both looking at the camera.

In my defense, I was tired and just wanted to nap, but then Mommy had to change me out of my comfy pajamas, and into the shirt and jeans she wanted me to wear!

Again, I just didn't want to sit, and Mommy says that she thinks this picture makes me look more like little boy instead of a baby!

Yes, Jacob looks cute, but he's leaning to the side and what you don't see is that he was shaking his head. Daddy thinks he's playing a game, but Jacob told me later that he just didn't want to have his picture taken and shaking his head "no".

This one got rejected for a couple of reasons, One, his hands are on his ears. Two, he's leaning again! Three, he's not looking at the camera. I may have been unhappy but I still look at the camera. If I don't Mommy keeps trying until I do!

Uh oh

Mommy says it's starting. We're getting into EVERYTHING!!! We can tell when the dishwasher gets opened, or if the cat's getting fed, and if the fridge is being opened. And when we hear these things, we take off crawling to check it out. And we try to help. The other night we helped Mommy by taking the bottom dishwasher rack off of the track and taking out the spoons and spatula she had put in there. And in the fridge, we just like to touch, although Alex helped by taking off the cover on the bottom, you know, then one that covers all the dust underneath? And Mommy must not have put it back that well, since he did it again!

And just this morning, we figured out how to lift the toilet seat to play in the water. We waited until Mommy was brushing her teeth to do this! I thought it was funny hearing her say "no" with tooth paste in her mouth.

Alex even figured out how to get to behind the sofa to get to the entertainment center instead of going under the coffee table. Daddy said something about more baby-proofing, wonder what that means?!

10 Minutes

This is what happens in the 10 minutes Mommy checks her email after dinner. Notice how I have my fingers in the diaper pail? And how I've pulled the clothes out of the box? We've also manged to hide the cover for the nightlight we found by Alex's bed. Mommy still hasn't found it!

In other news, we're sick again, and this time we even had to go to the doctor! Alex just has a cold, while I have an ear infection and bronchitis! My voice is horse and I can't even cry!

Hopefully we'll feel better by this weekend, we're supposed to go to a BBQ!

Alex & his finger

I've overheard people talking about me and my finger, so I'd thought I'd explain and share some pictures. I like to examine things around the house, usually small things, and I use my finger to to do this. Here's just a sampling of the things I've examined:
  • The spot on the carpet in front of Mommy and Daddy's bathroom.
  • The Glad logo on the plastic containers Mommy gives me to distract me while I eat.
  • The hinge on the hall closet.
  • The tip of the bottle nipple.
  • Body Parts - my belly button, Mommy and Grandpa's nostrils, Daddy's teeth, etc.
  • The screw that holds down the carpet.
Daddy got me to do this so he could take a picture.

This how I turn on and off the soother on my bed.

I also have to examine the leaves and fish that are on it.

This is from yesterday morning. And yes I got up on top of that container all by myself. Mommy didn't see me do it either. I even figured out how to sit down and slide off of it.

Jacob and I have also discovered the DVD player and Daddy's Play Station. I go over and push all the buttons, sometimes it even opens!! Daddy tried to put the coffee table up against the entertainment center so we can't get to it. But we figured out how to go under the table and get to the other side! Poor Daddy!

Easter

The Easter Bunny came!! Mommy and Daddy had to wake up Easter morning since we slept from 8:30 to almost 7:00!! When we woke up there were our Easter Baskets on our dresser. Mommy was quick to take our picture, so that explains why we look a little groggy. But then we got to see what the Easter Bunny brought! We got new dinosaur cups, new spoon and fork so we can start learning to feed ourselves, we each got a new outfit, a Tonka car, and a DVD. I got Thomas the Train and Alex got Sesame Street Songs.

Here's Alex with his new cup. Daddy says that he likes the looks that Alex gives!
I'm playing with my new fork and spoon, or at least the package.

Then after lunch we had to get ready to go to Great-Grandpa and GG's house. And of course Mommy wanted more pictures of us! Soon we'll show you the ones that didn't make the cut for the "good one"! Let's just say Alex was cranky, crying and didn't want to sit on the couch.

Grandma and Grandpa gave us Easter presents too! I think I'm beginning to like Easter! And I hear next year we get to hunt for eggs and have candy! Here's Alex with his bucket.

Then here's me!

Here's Alex afterwards!
Here's me again. We each got an outfit for the summer, along with some sandals, a screwdriver and hammer, some Gerber yogurt goodies, and a stuffed bunny. Mommy put the bunnies on the shelf in our room. She uses them to keep us occupied while she changes our diapers since we like to roll over and crawl around.

Then we hit JACKPOT!! GG's utensil drawer!! We don't have the selection at home like GG's.
Then it was time for dinner! Everything smelled good, but we got stuck with chicken and squash again. We did get to gnaw on the french bread though. Alex liked that more than me.

Then we cleaned up, ate dessert (Mommy let us try cheesecake, just a little!) put on pajamas, ate our bottles, and Alex passed out and we went home!

Fun with some new toys

Our Great Aunt Anne sent some neat toys to Grandma and Grandpa's house. One cool thing was this Wiggles mat that sings when we crawl around on it. Another thing was this Wiggles car that when you press on the men moves across the floor! Jacob wasn't too sure about the car at first, but now he's alright. He really likes the mat. He likes to go in the front room, and crawl in circles and always goes over the mat. I like to lift it up and see what's underneath.

She also sent some books and new (new to us) sippy cups. Jacob has been refusing the bottle and Mommy's been feeding him from a water bottle and so far, he hasn't liked any of the sippy cups she's bought, so maybe these will work!

We still like push things around anywhere we can. We go straight until we run into something, then I usually just push it back and forth, hitting what is stopping me. Jacob either looks around and whines until someone moves it for him, or he goes to the other side and uses it backwards, until he hits something else!

Oh, and here's a picture from the first time we sat on the grass. Mommy calls me the Michelin because my arms and legs have a lot of baby fat on them. Mommy and Daddy can't wait until we get used to the grass so they can take us to the park and let us crawl around and wear ourselves
out!

Grass Time

Not too much going on. I'm finally getting a top tooth, while Alex is working on his second one and possibly one on the bottom. We've both have a cold, but so far it hasn't affected our sleeping at night, so I think Mommy's happy about that. We went shopping in Vacaville this weekend, and stopped at Grandma and Grandpa's on the way home for dinner. Earlier in the week, Grandma and Grandpa put us on the grass to see how we would react. To their surprise, we don't move!! So Mommy and Daddy tried to get us used to being on the grass again. Still not much movement! But Grandma did get some good pictures that we wanted to share.

This was when they first sat us down.

Daddy was letting Alex practice his new trick, standing on his own. Mommy thinks he just didn't want to sit down on the grass so he stood longer instead.

Here's another of Alex, still unsure of the grass.

I still haven't moved! Why do they want me on this stuff?

Daddy was trying to get Alex to walk, and Mommy was trying to get me to crawl. I crawled a little, just to her, and just to make her happy.

And last, here's Alex standing on his own. Notice his hands on his chest. When Mommy takes his shirt off he does this too!

That's all for now. We hear that the Easter Bunny is coming this weekend, so there will probably be photos taken.

Alex

Alex here, I've got a couple of new pictures to show you. Ever since I've started crawling I've been keeping Mommy and Daddy on their toes. I like to play in the cat's water dish, the garbage bin, the diaper pail, the toilet (except now the seat's always down), and I like the door stopper, and the umbrella that's next to the front door.

I like to play with this toy we got for Christmas. I can move it around the room. There's a computer on it that I can lift up and then put it down, but I like to stick my hand in there and then put it down, and lean on it until I cry. But then Mommy gets me and I feel better, so when she puts me down, I get to go do it again! Sometimes, Jacob will lean on it too, while my hand is in there.

Oh here I am exploring the kitchen, but this is underneath the sink. Nothing fun, just the cat food and garbage bags. Last Friday we watched Daddy put something on the doors, and now they only open a couple of inches. I wonder why he did that? Now we can't get to the fun stuff!?!?!

This is one of my many faces. Mommy said to add this one since she thinks I look cute. Mommy and Daddy say that I'm happiest in the morning. I keep them guessing, they never know if I'll be happy or mad. They say it's because I'm a Gemini and they have 2 personalities. Grandma and Grandpa call me Attitude Alex. I like to keep them guessing too.

Jacob

Here's a few pictures of me since Alex got to show you share some of him.

Some new things that I like to do is to crawl to the nearest person, stand up and then I put up my arms so they can pick me up. Unlike Alex, I understand No (most of the time). I like to play with Mommy's newspaper, to bad for her, it's while she's reading it! She distracts me now with Cheerios and Puffs. At night I like to unwind with a big bottle, and sit in Mommy's lap.

In the mornings I like to practice my typing skills on Daddy's keyboard. He doesn't like it when I do this, so Mommy lets me get away with it after he goes to work. What Daddy doesn't know, won't hurt him!

Here's what I look like after I eat spaghetti and beef for dinner. Luckily this was right before my bath. The nice part about crawling is I can just follow Mommy to the bathroom once she takes down the gate. Alex and I race each other but since he likes to stop and look at things along the way, I usually win!

Oh, and here's a picture of the face I make whenever I have to eat something green. Peas, Green Beans or Mixed Vegetables. Mommy usually laughs at me, but makes me eat the nasty stuff anyways. She says it'll make me grow up nice and strong. We'll see.
